To extend our R&T team, we are looking for an Intellectual Property Expert.
You will be part of a diverse and dynamic team within the Highsun Holding Group (HSCC). HSCC has the most competitive integrated industrial chain in Nylon-6. The ambition is to improve and further develop our technologies by improving and engineering new processes to enable recycling, minimizing raw material consumption and environmental impact and by maximizing the value of its products.
Key responsibilities and behaviors
As a IP Expert in the R&T department you will use your chemical and engineering background to coordinate and manage the complete IP-portfolio for Fibrant, consisting of patents, NDA’s, FTO studies, trademarks etc. Within the R&T department you will support projects and partnerships by managing NDA’s, JDA’s and contractual agreements. You stay up to date on new findings globally by diving into various sources of information, in order to translate these into opportunities or threats for Fibrant. The IP Expert acts as an intermediary between Fibrant and our external patents and law firm. You follow-up on new patent filing processes and support our patent attorney with your chemistry and chemical engineering knowledge.
Fibrant R&T is a global team of 30 colleagues innovating the Nylon-6 technology supporting and developing the production sites in China and the Netherlands. You will be working together with different project teams within the R&T department with a focus on sustainability development. As a team member you are an analytical thinker and like to dive into research to find the missing piece of information. You know where to find the right sources to gain information on different technologies, research and main competitors globally. You feel responsible for IP protection, and you like to help and educate your colleagues on this topic.
In this job you will report to the Director R&T and will be working at our R&T office and labs in Geleen (the Netherlands).
Our ideal candidate:
- has an academic M.Sc. degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with at least 10 years of working experience in chemical industry.
- has strong judgement skills to convert knowledge from research into opportunities or threats for Fibrant
- works as an initiative-taker but knows when to include colleagues for extra knowledge
- communicates fluently in English, both in writing and verbally
- has affinity with legal documents and knows how to translate this
- is willing to travel
